2. What personal data do we process?

We only process data that is technically necessary for the operation of the website:

Technical data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, language settings, access time
Usage data: Selected language, calculators used (e.g., IPV, EL, Social Welfare), entered values (income, assets, rent, number of children, etc.)

      Important: All calculation data you enter (income, assets, health insurance premiums, family data, etc.) remains exclusively local in your browser. We do not store this data on our servers nor transmit it to third parties. The calculation takes place entirely on your own device.
    

We do not store any personal data such as name, address, AHV number, email, or other identifiable information.

3. Purpose and legal basis

Processing is carried out solely to provide the website's functionality (social benefits calculator) and to technically improve the service. The legal basis is Art. 31 of the revised Swiss Data Protection Act (revDSG) – legitimate interest in the functionality of the website.

4. Retention period

Server log files (technical access data) are stored for a maximum of 7 to 30 days and then automatically deleted. All calculation data remains exclusively in the user's browser and is neither transmitted to us nor permanently stored.

5. Disclosure to third parties & services used

We only share your data with third parties to the extent technically necessary for the operation of the website. No disclosure for advertising or analytics purposes occurs. We do not use any tracking tools such as Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar services.

5.1 Hosting

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (USA), a global platform for static websites. Vercel operates a worldwide edge network with servers in Europe (including Frankfurt, London), the USA, and other regions. When you visit our website, technical access data (IP address, access time, requested resources) is transmitted to Vercel and delivered through the nearest edge network location.

Vercel is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and processes personal data under Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) in accordance with GDPR. The source code is hosted on GitHub Inc. (USA), also DPF-certified. Both services process data solely to provide the website and do not store personal data beyond what is technically necessary.

5.2 Fonts – Bunny Fonts

For font display, we use Bunny Fonts, operated by bunny.net with servers in the European Union. When you visit the website, your IP address is transmitted to bunny.net. Bunny Fonts does not store personal data for tracking purposes and is hosted in compliance with data protection regulations within the EU. For more information: bunny.net Privacy Policy.

5.3 PDF Generation – jsPDF via Cloudflare CDN

For the "Download PDF" function, we use the open-source library jsPDF. The library is loaded via the Content Delivery Network (CDN) of Cloudflare, Inc. (USA) (cdnjs.cloudflare.com). Your IP address is transmitted to Cloudflare during this process. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (see DPF Certificate). The library runs exclusively locally in your browser; none of your input data (income, assets, family allowances, etc.) is transmitted to Cloudflare or any other third party. The PDF file is created and saved directly on your device.

5.4 No other third-party services

We do not integrate any other external services. In particular, we do not use Google Fonts, Google Maps, YouTube, social media plugins, or advertising networks.

6. Your rights

Under the Swiss Data Protection Act (revDSG) and – where applicable – the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights:

Access: You may request information about the personal data we hold about you at any time.
Rectification: You may request correction of inaccurate data.
Erasure: You may request deletion of your data, provided no legal retention obligations prevent it.
Objection: You may object to the processing of your data for reasons arising from your particular situation.

7. Data security

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or manipulation. The website is delivered exclusively via HTTPS (SSL/TLS encryption). Since this is a purely client-side calculation, your inputs never leave your browser.

8. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in legal requirements or technical developments. The current version can always be found at https://www.welfarecalc.ch/privacy.html.

      Summary for users in Switzerland and the EU:

      • No storage of your calculation data (income, assets, family allowances, etc.) on our servers.

      • No analytics tools, no Google Analytics, no tracking.

      • Use of Cloudflare CDN (jsPDF) and Bunny Fonts – both services are data protection compliant with servers in the EU or certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

      • Fully client-side calculation – your sensitive data never leaves your computer or smartphone.
