Understanding Swiss Dental Pricing

In Switzerland, dental prices are not fixed, but they follow the official DENTOTAR® tariff system. Knowing how the system works helps you understand your bill and have informed conversations with your dentist.

⚠️ The same treatment can cost differently depending on the clinic’s Tax Point Value (TPW). Knowing the official ranges helps you verify fairness.

How Your Bill Is Calculated

Every Swiss dental invoice is based on two key numbers:

Formula: Tax Points × Point Value = Final Price

Official TPW for most clinics ranges from 1.00 to 1.30 CHF.
If your clinic charges significantly higher, you can ask for justification.
